Why
Essentially, this is a manifesto page. I could have probably used that as the title, but I thought 'why' gave me a little more freedom.
Although, that being said, I'm now realising how big a question 'why' is...
Initially, I thought this was going to be to help other people, but I'm becoming more certain than ever that it's actually to help myself.
When I changed the domain to the Mattiverse domain, I wanted it to be my own universe.
Egotistical? Perhaps, but it's true. I wanted a space that I felt was truly mine, that I had complete control over and that I could add/remove pages and posts as I saw fit and for the most part, I've done that.
The funny thing I've found out because of this though is that in helping myself, I've been able to help others (or at least been able to post things that people relate to), which has been an incredible feeling.
One of my first posts was about the generous troublemaker and I posted these 5 'tenets':
- to have some f'in fun
- to challenge the f'in norm
- to disrupt the f'in boring
- to be unapologetically f'in me
- to create from f'in curiosity
I had such grand ambitions and yet it's only recently when I've started to even touch on any of these (1 and 4 specifically).
So, what is the why then?
The why is that I understand I have things worth sharing, even if they're only worth sharing for me.
